We are currently looking for a part time Investigating Officer to work under the direction and guidance of the Director of Regulation covering the South of the Country.

Working as part of a small nationwide team in the regulation and safeguarding of the sport, this role will require proactive investigations in connection with alleged breaches of the Rules of Racing and intelligence gathering.

Candidates will be required to conduct investigations, recorded interviews for hearings, and will also be required to keep parties regularly updated on investigation progression so excellent communication and reporting writing skills are essential, as is experience of conducting investigations (ideally related to animals).  This role could potentially suit an ex-police officer.

You will be required to have a full, clean, and current driving licence, be able to work unsupervised and be IT proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Teams etc) and case management software (we currently use Clue).

Knowledge of the Rules of Racing and/or animal welfare legislation would be a huge advantage as would knowledge of betting and the betting markets. Work experience and evidence of related job-based training within greyhound or related industry (inc. performance animals) would also be looked upon favourably.

This role is being offered on a part time basis of 17½ hours per week.  Salary will be £21,730 per annum and a car allowance of £3,000 per annum, paid monthly, will also be offered.
